What is Snow
Tubing is a fun, winter, recreational activity
where you ride on top of (or tucked inside of, if you are small
enough) an inner tube, on snow. The tubes themselves are usually
inflated, soft, round, strong rubber tubes, sometimes called "donuts"
or "biscuits" because of their shape. Tubing hills are usually
a number of "Lanes" on a specifically graded hill that
allows for a slightly uncontrolled descent at speeds meant to
thrill ending on another opposite grade hill that slows the tube
at the end of the decent.
the Poconos can you do Snow Tubing? (We're glad you asked!)
know that unlike skiing or snow boarding, snow tubing is usually
sold by "sessions" or parts of the day. When you purchase
a ticket to snow tube, you usually do so for a specific number
of hours. You should arrive at the beginning of the "session"
in order to A. Get tickets (becasue sessions are for limited numbers
of people the sessions sometimes sell out and B. So you can get
full value for the timed session. Arriving in the middle of the
session means you only get the last half. Each resort has different
timed sessions, but usually there are morning, afternoon and (when
the hill is lit) evening sessions.
